The wine year 2012 began with a very cold and dry winter. The sprouting occurred in the third week of March, but spring remained fresh and well in rainfall in April and May which led to a delay in the growth of the vines, verifying a low vegetative vigor and the delay in flowering and fruit set. In June and July the time heated, promoted a good vegetative growth. However, berries and bunches presented always smaller than normal. The Painter also occurred a little later. The maturation occurred normally and the harvest began on 20 September, with very good quality fruit.
